OVERVIEW

Lingua Language Center provides comprehensive support services to help international students succeed academically, culturally, and personally. Services include academic advising, placement testing, tutoring, F-1 immigration support, student orientation, cultural adjustment assistance, housing and transportation guidance, health and safety referrals, and ongoing administrative support.


All services listed below are available to currently enrolled students at no additional cost during regular office hours. Our dedicated staff is committed to helping students achieve their language goals while adjusting successfully to life in the United States.

International Student Advising

International students receive personalized guidance regarding enrollment requirements, academic expectations, and maintaining their student status. Advising covers program selection, academic planning, institutional policies, and general support from admission through graduation.

F-1 Visa Interview Support

Students applying for an F-1 visa receive preparation support, including documentation review, I-20 issuance, and interview readiness guidance. Students are directed to the Department of State website and the SEVP Response Center for official visa information.

Student Orientation

All new students participate in a mandatory orientation session on or before their first day of classes. Orientation covers program details, academic policies, attendance and grading requirements, community services, higher education options, career opportunities, insurance, housing referrals, entertainment activities, and campus safety information.


How to access: Scheduled prior to the first day of classes. Students are notified of the date and time upon enrollment.

Academic Advising

Students receive ongoing academic advising related to course placement, academic progress monitoring, performance evaluation, and language learning goal setting. Faculty members also meet with students to discuss expectations and provide feedback throughout each term.

Housing Assistance

Lingua assists students seeking housing information by providing referrals to housing partners, including the third-party provider 4stay, which offers host family placements and apartment options. Hotel accommodation information with corporate discount rates is also available. The school does not directly manage housing facilities.

Progress Reviews and Feedback

Student progress is monitored regularly throughout each term. Faculty members complete Student-Teacher Progress Meeting Forms and provide feedback on attendance, class participation, and academic performance. These reviews occur multiple times per term to help students stay on track.

Vacation Term Eligibility Advising

Students who have been continuously enrolled for at least nine calendar months and are in good academic standing may be eligible for up to 90 days of vacation leave. Staff advises students on eligibility requirements and the application process in compliance with SEVP regulations.

Personal Advising / Cultural Adaptation Advising

Students may seek support adjusting to life in the United States. Staff provides guidance on cultural adaptation, daily life matters, and general well-being to help students transition smoothly into their new environment.

Field Trips / Social Activities

Lingua organizes extracurricular activities on a regular basis so students can immerse themselves in American culture while practicing English. Activities include local outings, cultural events, and community engagement opportunities.

Immigration and Compliance Advising / SEVP

Students receive guidance on immigration regulations, SEVIS compliance, I-20 management, maintaining F-1 status, and travel or transfer procedures. The PDSO handles all matters concerning international students in conjunction with Designated School Officials at each branch.

Referrals to Local Attorneys

When necessary, students may be referred to qualified local immigration attorneys for legal consultation regarding visa or immigration matters.

Health Insurance Guidance and Referrals

Lingua requires health insurance for all international students. Insurance may be purchased in the student's country of origin or through Lingua's recommended providers. Staff provides guidance on minimum coverage requirements and referrals to insurance providers. Proof of insurance is required before the class start date.
